Enjoy Great Recreational Actives Year-Round at Takysie
Get Active with Our Recreational Facilities
There are plenty of activities to keep your family and friends active at Takysie Lake Resort. These include volleyball, badminton, playfield, and a swinging and slide area for the kids. Play bocce ball or croquet on the grounds, hold a horseshoe tournament, take a bicycling tour, hike down the lake, rent a canoe or motorboat and go fishing or photographing…and anything else that you can dream up.
Rent our big party raft and spend the whole day on the lake and then spend the next day smoking your catch! There are also outlying areas to explore. Take a drive to Skins Lake Dam, Cheslatta Falls, or pick up a map from the store and take a circle tour past Ootsa Lake and around the head of Francois Lake. There is much to see and take in, fish to catch (and release if you like), wildlife to photograph, and breathtaking scenery to enjoy. And, at the end of the day, relax by your fire and take in the sunset and twilight hours of Takysie Lake.
You have everything you need right here at Takysie Lake Resort. Get a map of our location for easier travel or stop by the store to stock up on bait and tackle for your big fishing day.
Wintertime Activities
In the fall and wintertime, activities change a bit. With September and October, the hunting season starts. As the leaves change and the landscape quiets, it is that time where man once again tries to outsmart the wildlife. Once hunting season has ended, the lake begins to freeze and soon the sports of ice fishing, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, hockey, and skating take over. The boots and mitts come on and winter has begun its journey. There is a special kind of serenity in the wintertime here as the snow brings a hush to the world and all seems tranquil.

Fishing Report
Takysie Lake supports a very good Rainbow fishery for wild trout to 2+ lbs in weight. Fly fishing is popular as well as conventional trolling methods using spinning gear, flatfish, and small spoons.
Be sure to visit British Columbia’s Travel Guide for additional BC angling information!
Note: Always check your current BC Fishing Regulations before you start fishing a new lake.
